With the wind at our backs

How do you safely get a kite into the air? What’s the difference between single-line, two-line, and multi-line kites? And what role do the “ground crew” play? In this workshop, Klaus Michels offers a glimpse into the fascinating world of kite flying.

First, we’ll work together to set up a single-line kite and attach show kites to it. Next, we’ll explore various stunt kites, both with and without frames. We’ll also use wind socks and wind chimes that are secured to the ground.

After that, it’s time to give it a try. Depending on the wind conditions, participants can fly different kites and gain some initial experience. Feel free to bring your own kites. Anyone with prior kite-flying experience is welcome to help out the group.

Please note: The workshop is subject to wind and weather conditions. The number of sessions that can be held will therefore be decided on short notice and announced approximately one day in advance.
