For many, achiev\u00ading as much as possi\u00adble inde\u00adpen\u00addently, being autonomous, and shap\u00ading one\u2019s life autonomously is an impor\u00adtant&nbsp;goal.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>However, for people with disabil\u00adi\u00adties, this ideal can be in tension with their own life real\u00adity. What does it mean for one\u2019s self-image if certain things can no longer be managed, or cannot be managed alone? Espe\u00adcially with increas\u00ading age, this ques\u00adtion becomes more press\u00ading for many Thalido\u00admide survivors.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This work\u00adshop invites partic\u00adi\u00adpants to explore this area of tension and its vari\u00adous facets. Follow\u00ading a joint intro\u00adduc\u00adtion, partic\u00adi\u00adpants will discuss in small groups what can help in accept\u00ading support and asking for help.
