On the occa­sion of the 60th anniver­sary of the market with­drawal of the medi­c­i­nal prod­uct thalido­mide on Novem­ber 27, 1961, 65 people affected by Conter­gan agreed to be portrayed. In the photo book “Images Against Forget­ting – Portraits of People Affected by Conter­gan” and the accom­pa­ny­ing book “Words Against Forget­ting – Conver­sa­tions with People Affected by Conter­gan”, they speak about their great­est happi­ness, their saddest moments, and their dreams. The two works are not only a biograph­i­cal collec­tion for those affected by Conter­gan, their rela­tives, and their friends, but also docu­men­tary accounts by contem­po­rary witnesses for future generations. 

Books published by the Conter­gan Victims’ Asso­ci­a­tion (Inter­essen­ver­band Contergan­geschädigter e.V.) will be avail­able for purchase during the confer­ence week.
