The World of Kite Flying
29. 10., 11:00
With the wind at our backs
How do you safely get a kite into the air? What’s the difference between single-line, two-line, and multi-line kites? And what role does the “ground crew” play? In this workshop, Klaus Michels gives you an insight into the fascinating world of kite flying.
First, you’ll build a single-line kite together and fit it with show kites. Then it’s on to various steerable kites with and without a frame. Windsocks and wind spinners, anchored to the ground, are also used.
After that, it’s your turn to try it out. Depending on wind conditions, participants can fly different kites and gain first-hand experience. Feel free to bring your own kite. If you already have kite-flying experience, you’re warmly invited to help out the group.
Please note: The workshop depends on wind and weather conditions. How many sessions can take place will therefore be decided at short notice and announced about a day in advance each time.
