Basic Knowledge of Thalidomide
In her specialist book, Christina Ding-Greiner imparts essential knowledge about impairments, secondary diseases, and treatment options.

The health consequences of the drug Thalidomide are diverse. In addition to congenital malformations, many of those affected today suffer from secondary and long-term damage, chronic pain, and further physical or psychological burdens. A particular challenge is that the impairments are manifested in very different ways and are not always clearly recognized as consequences of Thalidomide.
With her book “Basic Knowledge of Thalidomide – How holistic medical care for people affected by Thalidomide succeeds,” Dr. Christina Ding-Greiner aims to help close these knowledge gaps and improve the medical care of those affected.
The specialist book provides comprehensive information on prenatal damage to various organ systems, the development of secondary and long-term damage, and their impact on the lives of those affected. Further focal points include chronic pain, psychological illnesses, and deafness.
Experienced medical doctors and therapists report from medical practice, nursing, and rehabilitation. Using case studies, individual health impairments, different disease progressions, and possible treatment approaches are explained.
The book is particularly aimed at doctors, therapists, and nursing professionals who treat and support people with Thalidomide-related impairments. However, it also offers those affected and interested parties well-founded information to better understand health correlations and learn about treatment options.
Christina Ding-Greiner is a physician and graduate gerontologist. Since 2010, she has been working intensively on the effects and long-term consequences of the drug Thalidomide.
