A relaxing ride through the famous canals

Experiencing Amsterdam by water is one of the classic highlights of a visit to the Dutch capital. Especially in autumn, a canal cruise offers an extra advantage: the enclosed boats are sheltered and heated.

Choosing the right operator is important, though. Many traditional canal boats can only be reached via steep steps. Specialized operators such as the Blue Boat Company, however, have boats equipped with wheelchair lifts. Wheelchair Boat Amsterdam also offers suitable options.

A cruise usually lasts about one to one and a half hours and can easily be combined with a museum visit or a stroll through the city.

Good to Know: Amsterdam is about a 45-minute drive from Egmond.
