Alkmaar is located only about a 15-minute drive from Egmond aan Zee. This historic city is perfect for a museum visit or a relaxing break in a café.

There is an official accessible route for the old town. The Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar and the Cheese Museum are also wheelchair accessible.

For a unique experience, combine your city visit with a trip to the Museum BroekerVeiling. The world’s oldest vegetable auction features special boats that can be boarded directly with a wheelchair.

Grand Café Klunder at Canadaplein is an excellent choice for a break. It offers step-free access, plenty of space, and a wheelchair-accessible restroom.

“Good to Know”: Alkmaar is suitable for a short stroll as well as a half-day or full-day excursion.
